HOLISTICFLOW® IMMERSION

November 21 @ 3:00 pm 6:00 pm

NOT EVERYTHING YOU CARRY IS YOURS

Some of what weighs on us is clearly ours.

Our decisions.
Our responsibilities.
Our emotions.
Our choices.

But sometimes we carry much more than that.

Someone else’s disappointment.
A family expectation.
A partner’s mood.
The pressure to keep everyone comfortable.
The responsibility to anticipate what others need.
The feeling that if someone around us is unhappy, somehow we should fix it.

Over time, it can become difficult to distinguish between what belongs to you and what you have absorbed from the people and environments around you.

That is where this HolisticFlow® IMMERSION begins.

Emotional absorption does not happen only through thought.

It can show up in the body.

You may notice yourself tightening when someone is upset.
Changing your behavior to avoid disappointing another person.
Feeling responsible for tension that is not actually yours to resolve.
Carrying an interaction hours after it ended.
Saying yes when your body is already signaling no.

The mind may understand that another person’s emotions belong to them.

And yet the body can still react as if it is your responsibility to carry them.

HolisticFlow® approaches this experience through the whole person.

Through guided reflection, conscious movement, breath, body awareness, mindfulness, music, and experiential practice, you will explore how responsibility, emotional absorption, expectations, and boundaries may be showing up in your own mind and body.

Rather than simply learning what a boundary is, you will have opportunities to experience it.

What does it feel like to move toward something?

What does it feel like to step back?

What happens in the body when you say yes?

What happens when you imagine saying no?

Where do you contract when someone needs something from you?

Where do you automatically reach out, accommodate, rescue, absorb, or take responsibility?

Movement is not choreography here.

It is part of the learning process.

A gesture can make a boundary tangible.

Distance can help you notice where your personal space begins and ends.

Breath can reveal when you are bracing around another person’s emotions.

Movement can allow you to experiment with the difference between caring about someone and carrying what belongs to them.

The purpose is not to become detached, indifferent, or less compassionate.

It is to explore whether connection can exist without emotional over-responsibility.

WHY 180 MINUTES MATTER

A three-hour IMMERSION creates room to do more than understand the idea of boundaries.

There is time to slow down, recognize what you tend to absorb, notice how those patterns appear in your body, work experientially with movement and breath, reflect on what genuinely belongs to you, and integrate what you discover.

That additional time allows the experience to unfold gradually.

Not rushing toward an answer.

Not forcing yourself to “let go.”

Instead, becoming more precise about what you are actually carrying—and why.

WHY GROUP EXPERIENCE MATTERS

Many of our patterns around responsibility develop in relationship.

We learn what is expected of us.

We notice whose emotions take up space.

We adapt.

We become the responsible one, the peacemaker, the helper, the one who does not create problems.

That makes this theme especially meaningful to explore in a group.

The work remains personal, but participants are surrounded by other people examining their own patterns of responsibility, expectation, connection, and boundaries.

There is no requirement to disclose personal stories or perform emotionally.

The group offers something quieter: perspective.

Sometimes watching another person create space reminds us that we can create space too.

Sometimes hearing that another person has struggled with the same invisible responsibility makes our own experience easier to recognize.

The work remains yours.

The shared environment reminds you that these patterns are deeply human.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPLORE

During this 180-minute IMMERSION, you will be invited to:

  • identify some of the emotions, expectations, and responsibilities you may routinely absorb from others
  • distinguish more clearly between genuine responsibility and emotional over-responsibility
  • notice how another person’s mood, disappointment, needs, or expectations may affect your own body and behavior
  • recognize physical signals that may appear when a boundary is being crossed or ignored
  • explore the difference between compassion, connection, accommodation, and carrying
  • use movement, breath, awareness, and reflection to practice embodied boundaries
  • experiment with staying connected without automatically taking responsibility for another person’s internal state
  • make more space for your own needs, emotions, limits, and choices
  • integrate what you discover into everyday relationships

This is not about caring less.

It is about becoming more conscious of what is yours to care for—and what was never yours to carry.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This experience may resonate with you if you sometimes think:

“Why do other people’s moods affect me so much?”
“Why do I feel guilty when I say no?”
“Why do I feel responsible for keeping everyone okay?”
“Why am I carrying this when it isn’t actually mine?”
“Where do I end and everyone else begin?”

No previous experience with movement, meditation, breathwork, yoga, or mind-body practices is required.

HolisticFlow® is not about performance or getting movements right. Practices are guided, adaptable, and invitational.
